The event is held at the UN HQ in New York City on March 14 and 15, 2017. This high-level event is a joint convening of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, United Nations Office for Partnerships, UN Women, and the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and is the 7th forum in the series. The Forum will address ways in which the business community can play a pivotal role as champions of women\u2019s and girls\u2019 empowerment. It will also explore how to measure outcomes of initiatives to support women and girls and how to use data to drive discourse and action.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Forum is taking place during the <\/span>Commission on the Status of Women, <\/b>which is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women at the UN. The theme for the sixty-first session of CSW is women\u2019s economic empowerment in the changing world of work, which coincides with the objective of SheWorks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unveiling of SheWorks! will occur during \u201cTracking Inclusion and Equality in the Workforce\u201d session, scheduled for 4:50 p.m. \u2013 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 at the Trusteeship Council Chamber of the UN HQ. Moderated by Irene Natividad, President, Global Summit of Women, this session will be analyzing the factors that impede women\u2019s ability to join or stay in the workforce and gender-friendly policies that support women\u2019s participation. Silvina will be introduced by William Kennedy, Senior Programme Officer, United Nations Office for Partnerships.<\/span><\/p>\n

During pre-launch stage, SheWorks! has secured a number of high-profile clients, including Univision, Criteo, MasterCard and forged partnerships with multilateral organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank and MIF (Multilateral Investment Fund), NGOs including Vital Voices Argentina and Miami, Fortune 500 companies including Cisco Systems and Microsoft, online education startups including Crehana and Platzi as well as alliances with the Governments of Mexico, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Colombia where the program will be deployed during 2017. Silvina Moschini is a former senior corporate executive with significant experience in some of the largest and most successful companies in the world.
